Rules for Safer Sunbed Use
In the UK, we strongly advise that you consult your GP, consultant, or other appropriate medical practitioner before using UV tanning equipment, even if you do not currently have any known health conditions.
Certain medications, supplements, and cosmetic products (including, for example, some antibiotics, acne treatments, contraceptive pills, and other photosensitising agents) may increase sensitivity to UV exposure and may make indoor tanning unsuitable.
If you have any dark, unusual, changing, or large moles, skin lesions, or other dermatological concerns, you should seek medical advice before tanning.
Your medical practitioner can advise you regarding potential health risks associated with UV exposure and whether indoor tanning is appropriate for you.
Indoor tanning carries recognised health risks, including premature skin ageing, eye damage, and an increased risk of skin cancer. If in doubt, do not tan.
Liability Waiver
By agreeing to our Terms and Conditions, you confirm that you have considered whether to seek appropriate medical advice before use and acknowledge that you use the tanning facilities at your own risk. We cannot accept liability for adverse reactions resulting from undisclosed medical conditions, medications, or failure to follow provided safety guidance, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
⸻
Important legal note: the original wording “you waiver and indemnify us against any claims” is weak and potentially unenforceable in UK consumer law. Businesses generally cannot simply contract out of liability for negligence causing personal injury under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and related consumer protections. If this is for a real business, proper legal wording matters.
Terms & Conditions
The Sunbeds (Regulation) Act 2010, passed by the UK Government, came into force on the 8th April 2011, and ruled that no persons under the age of 18 were permitted to use UV tanning services, to purchase UV tanning services or to be present in same zone/ room as UV Tanning equipment.
Persons under 18 will not be permitted to use sunbeds at Bed Light & Beyond.
Red Light Therapy is available for customers aged 18 and over.

An indoor tanning system should be treated with the same caution as normal sunlight. A tan should be built gradually, particularly if you have sensitive skin.
Never repeat tanning treatment if any signs of redness remain from previous sunbathing or tanning. Do not tamper with or touch the light tubes when using the equipment.
Tanning Sessions should be limited to once every 24-48 hours and not exceed 500 minutes in one year.
Persons with sensitive skin or no existing tan should restrict their first few sessions to a maximum of six minutes. It is also advised that cosmetics, perfumes and deodorants should not be worn during treatment.
